Step into the Gallery Theatre at the National Museum of Singapore, Singapore's oldest museum, established in 1849 and housed in a historic building originally built in 1887. The Gallery Theatre's walls are lined with 16,720 red bricks — each one a tribute to the former National Library building that once stood on this very site, and laid in a herringbone pattern specifically designed to control the echoes and acoustics of the space. Tonight, those walls resonate with something new.
